Jesus has sent us into the world to do His work just as the Father sent Him into the world (John 17:18; John 20:21; and John 3:16). But if we are going to minister to others as Jesus did, then we are going to have to learn to see people as Jesus does. But how do we do that?
When we look at Jesus, two principles emerge in how He viewed and related to people:
- He was available to all sorts of people
- He was intentional in how He approached people
Look again at this second one: Jesus was intentional. He saw each person as someone in whom the works of God needed to be done in his or her life. Compared to all the ways we label, marginalize, dismiss, or scapegoat people (For several different ways you can wrongly view people and compare it to Jesus way, see John 9:1-41.), Jesus is the reminder that God cares for all people and want to bring them back to Him.
